Congratulatory Messages
My electorate office is happy to organise congratulatory messages on behalf of the residents of the Northern Territory.
If you know of an Australian who has a milestone birthday or wedding anniversary coming up, I am able to organise the Prime Minister to offer his congratulations. In some cases the Governor-General and the Queen may offer their congratulations as well.
Who qualifies
Birthdays:
The Prime Minister will send a message of congratulations to people turning 90 years of age or more. The Queen and Governor-General will send a message on a 100th birthday. On request, the Prime Minister and the Governor-General will write again every year and the Queen will write again every five years.
Wedding Anniversaries:
The Prime Minister and Governor-General send messages to couples celebrating 50 years of marriage and subsequent wedding anniversaries. The Queen sends messages to couples celebrating 60 years of marriage and will write every five years after that upon request. Flags
Certain organisations in the NT, such as schools, churches and not-for-profit organisations, as well as community groups, Australian exchange students and humanitarian aid workers, are able to request flags for their use. The Australian, Torres Strait and Aboriginal flags are available to these organisations upon request.
